Weeping Willow dining table

This one is absolutley stnning, the wood truly came alive after some deep penetrating coats of oil. So many levels of figure it is an absolute trip to look at.

IMG-4025-1.jpg

An ideal oval cut of maple to make a coffee table just right for a 2 person sofa. We left the crack in this one as well as the truncated end for some enjoyable inconsistency.

Frankenmaple

Part burl, part slab, this 3 inch thick maple monster has a 3 dimensional shimmer to its surface.

IMG-4469.jpg

Coffee tables of all shapes, woods and sizes

If you find the right cross cut, the wood speaks for itself. Minimalist legs so the focus is on where it counts.

A shelf for every space

Designed to tuck into a tight corner this high shelf aimed to accommodate potted plants bringing a bit of green to an unused area. The wood was simply clear coated to show off its natural sandy colour, against white piping.

Wavy cedar Cookie

The closer to the base of the tree you get, the wavier the cross cut. They make tables with so much charachter.

Reclaimed Barnwood Desk & Matching Coffee Table

This was a fun project, the coffee table came first, the customer liked the style so much they wanted a desk made for their office to complete the set. Two separate barn boards from some very old farm buildings were stitched together with copper wire and mounted on a framework of intricately designed legs.

Maple Shop Display

This was a large scale shop install for a boutique on Granville Island. Here I used 7ft maple slabs with a number of offset shelves for a very unique natural look, well juxtaposed against the black wall.

Assorted Cedar Round Tables

Nothing makes a better coffee or side table than a perfect round slice from a salvaged log. Enjoy the individual rings as a chronology through the trees life.

IMG-3020.JPG

Dark Display Shelf

The dark stain on this cedar shelf really highlights the track marks left by the Wharf Beetle giving the wood a more time warn character

Mystic River Table

A more surreal take on a river table using pearlescent epoxy set in overlapping swirls. These clean slabs have been mounted on steel frame legs for a smart aesthetic.

Small Computer Desk

Sitting at a computer all day doesn’t mean you cant be connected to nature. Why not enjoy a raw slab under your arms.

Incase you hadn’t noticed I make a lot of shelves. Here are a few different shapes and sizes.

Epoxy River Table

A first for Wood Once Again, this epoxy river table is crafted from the characterful heartwood of a Western Red Cedar tree. The teal resin was cast over an inch thick and forms the mystical centrepiece of this table.

Dark Wall Mounted Shelf

Here the customer opted for a dark stain which worked very well with the contrasting grains of the wood.

Sleek Edge Dining Table

A combination of rustic edged wood that follows the contours of the grain, a raw copper bar inlay and hairpin legs gives this table a modern profile while retaining its natural heritage.

Freestanding Live Edge Cedar Shelf

A glowing combination of naturally oiled Cedar and polished copper support beams, this shelf needed to be out in the sun so the colours and heartwood grains could pop.

Small Freestanding Live Edge Cedar Shelf

The little brother matched set to the shelf above working the tried and tested material combination perfectly.

Red Cedar Corner Unit

This shelf has been sleekly designed to slide into a corner and provide a nice contrast to the wall with matte black pillars and the naturally oiled, enhanced grain.

Reclaimed Barnboard Dining Set

Here, complementary colours of varying woods from different regions and eras combine to make a vibrant table alongside matching benches. The table sits on copper hairpin legs, while the benches are braced with copper pipe supports. When the sunlight hits each stripe has its own character.

Sequoia & Copper Sommelier Shelf

Designed for a private sommelier to store her wine and glasses so she can run at-home wine tastings. The red’s and white’s of the Sequoia work really well against the wines of the same colour.

Retro Drinks Cart

Using a salvaged steel trolley with natural patina, combined with clean cut Maple and Douglas fir boards, I have created a drinks cart to stand out and help the entertainer entertain.

A Full Wall of Shelves

Using reclaimed barn boards from across BC this shelf was built 16ft wide and 9ft tall. The beams are supported with pipe steel fittings to give an industrial feel in this loft. Everything was custom, right down to the oak beamed rolling ladder.

Octagonal Wall Shelf

Showcasing the awesome swirls of wiggly maple, this wall shelf is something a bit different. With copper tube acting as a frame to whatever is displayed, the shelf becomes like a hung picture that changes with the placement of your items.

IMG-0899.JPG

Wall Mounted Butternut Bookshelf

From some salvaged butternut boards came this sleek and simple book shelf for a minimal apartment overlooking English Bay. Linseed oil really got the most out of the tight butternut grain showing off all the ripples.

IMG-0697.JPG

Cantilevered Display Shelf

This is a one of a kind display shelf that is supported by one offset pillar that has been anchored to the base by a copper chain. The pillar comes up through natural imperfections in the wood to create something quite special.

IMG-9233.JPG

Barnwood Table Set

Choosing the most varied boards of reclaimed barn wood in different, colours, grains and conditions, I was able to make this table feel rustic yet original. Mounted on white board with polished copper hairpin legs and there is sleekness not usually found in vintage pieces.

IMG-0424.JPG

Freestanding Live Edge Shelf

This was built to take a sound system in someones living room. It has raw live edges of red cedar and chestnut and is supported by tube steel legs.

IMG-0989.JPG

Antique Barnwood Shelf

Perfect as a low standing bar, or to hold your record collection or coffee table books. The antique barn wood from century old buildings across BC and Alberta is nicely highlighted with the copper frame.

Red Cedar Side Table

Naturally protected with penetrating linseed oil to really help the colours pop. This wavy, live edge table came out bright and warm.

IMG-0737.JPG

Butternut Round Display Shelf

This really showcases that most of my builds take inspiration from the wood itself. Usually I select the wood, then create the project structure around it. Here the tapering copper pipe tower contains each shelf round creating the perfect book ends.

IMG-0397.JPG

Live Edge Red Cedar Shelf

Another sleek, wall mounted shelf designed for a minimalistic apartment with lots of light. The red cedar has been lightly stained to bring out the grain transitions. Some driftwood bark was added up top to provide a difference in texture.

IMG-0414.JPG

Free Standing Douglas Fir

A small free standing shelf made with double live edge Douglas Fir. The grain here was incredible, so too were the colours in the bark against the glossy black of the frame and legs.

IMG-0409.JPG

Red Cedar Slab Desk

This was the perfect piece of cedar for a small but functional desk. I extended two of the pipe legs so that they came through the slab and were actually mounted on top
